General Surgery and Internal Medicine

My CV

I graduated in medical studies from Chieti University in 1997, with an experimental thesis in internal medicine/endocrinology focusing on “The thyroid and circadian rhythm”. This gave me the opportunity to investigate in depth the biochemical processes that regulate sleep and hormonal activity, and that are involved in memory and fatigue.

After graduation, I continued my training in several hospital departments including Casualty, General Surgery and Internal Medicine, before going on to work as a general practitioner so as to consolidate my experience in different areas of specialism.

In the meantime, I never stopped investing in my professional development, attending numerous postgraduate courses and conferences with the aim of deepening my knowledge of topics including endocrinology, general ultrasound (SIUMB specialisation course), metabolic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, obesity), PNEI (psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology), dietetics and nutrition. This widened my horizons considerably and prompted me to also acquire knowledge of holistic and complementary medicine, which coincided with a new personal path that afforded me new experiences in different areas of integrative and naturopathic medicine.

Over the last ten years, I have been practising in private medical facilities with patients from all over the world, who are looking to find new balance and health and to improve their psycho-physical well-being, as well as their nutritional habits.

I am currently working both at the Adler Balance medical spa in Ortisei and in my own private surgery in Merano.

My approach

As a practitioner, my mission is to put the individual first, rather than the disease, by approaching each patient with an all-round perspective where various fields of medicine are combined and integrated. The ultimate goal is for my patients to achieve a state of complete WELL-BEING, full of harmony and vitality. This is made possible by integrating the therapeutic course with work at a psycho-emotional level combined with a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

My focus

In my family, we have been doctors for generations. As a child, this helped me on my way to making myself acquainted with the medical world, and to developing an intimate understanding of the importance of a doctor-patient relationship based on trust and professionalism.

As complementary medicine is intended to be integrated with conventional medicine, I decided to explore in depth the potential offered by homeopathy, phytotherapy, Ayurveda, flower essences, essential oils, chakra work and the balancing effects that these can have on the person. The intent is to provide the patients with additional tools for a healthy and harmonious lifestyle that can help them preserve and improve their general health.
