Lactic acid

Lactic acid is a by-product of the fermentation of carbohydrates (sugars and starches).

It is an organic active ingredient with pH-rebalancing, keratolytic and moisturising properties. As it promotes renewal of the stratum corneum, lactic acid is a common ingredient in exfoliating and peeling products.
