Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is discolouration of the skin caused by overproduction of melanin. It is characterised by flat spots of various shapes and sizes with colours ranging from light brown to black. Age spots, naevi, melasmas and lentigo are all different forms of hyperpigmentation.
