Capillaries

Capillaries are tiny, finely branched blood vessels with a diameter between five and ten microns. They serve as pathways between veins and arteries and are responsible for the exchanges between blood and body tissue: they deliver nutrients and oxygen to the tissues and collect metabolic waste for disposal.
