TSH

Also known as the thyroid-stimulating hormone, TSH is produced by the pituitary gland (hypophysis). Once released into the bloodstream, it reaches the thyroid and stimulates the production of FT3 and FT4 hormones, also promoting their distribution throughout the body.

TSH blood levels are therefore a reliable indicator of thyroid function.
