Testosterone

Testosterone is the primary male hormone but it is also present in females, albeit to a lesser extent. In males, it is responsible for the development of both primary and secondary sexual characteristics, like the genital organs, facial and body hair and lower vocal timbre. High levels of testosterone are associated with increased libido, muscle mass, overall energy and physical endurance. Testosterone also increases libido and develops muscles in females, with a number of menopause-related disorders being partly due to a physiological decrease in testosterone levels.
