Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI)

PNEI is a relatively new discipline that investigates how the human psyche interacts with the nervous, endocrine and immune systems. The PNEI approach is based on the assumption that all the cells and organs in our body are interconnected and that, as a consequence, the brain and immune, nervous and endocrine systems are capable of exerting a certain degree of reciprocal influence. So far, studies conducted in the field have confirmed that practices like active relaxation and constructive thought can influence the immune system to the point of speeding up healing processes and promoting a good state of health.
