Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and, together with elastin, is one of the main components of connective tissue. Collagen can absorb and store an amount of water up to 15 times its mass. It is located in different areas of the body, including the tendons, ligaments and skin. Collagen and elastin are bundled together in a gelatinous layer of hyaluronic acid; together, these two substances determine skin volume and elasticity.
