Biofeedback

Biofeedback therapy is a technique that aims at gaining increased awareness and control over body functions that are normally unconscious – like respiration, muscle tension and heart rate – by means of electrical devices (e.g. HeartMath) or manual tests (e.g. the muscle test in applied kinesiology). During a biofeedback session, the patient learns how to become aware of physiological processes and gain control over them, for example by slowing down their breathing and heart rate.
