Antibodies

Antibodies (or immunoglobulins) are protein molecules produced and released into the bloodstream and other body fluids by a type of lymphocyte called B cells. The function of antibodies is to fight pathogens and other foreign substances. There are different types of antibodies, each specialised in counteracting a specific antigen.
