Menopause – an opportunity for rebirth

Menopause – an opportunity for rebirth

10-02-22

Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman’s menstrual cycles. This cessation may be experienced either as a distressing end to “youthfulness” or as a great opportunity for a new lease of life. In fact, it is the perfect time for a woman to finally make time for herself and to live life as her true self, free from all the expectations that are often placed upon us. In this perspective, menopause can indeed herald the beginning of a new, wonderful life phase.

UNDERSTANDING MENOPAUSE

It is important to know that the changes that accompany menopause at a physical and psychological level are caused by important changes in our hormone setup. However, these hormonal “upheavals” can be alleviated or even eliminated by means of targeted therapies and lifestyle adjustments.

Menopause doesn’t happen overnight – it is a gradual process for which the body prepares for up to a decade. As the ovaries gradually shrink, the production of oestrogen and progesterone (the hormones responsible for regulating the menstrual cycle) decreases, and fertility is reduced.

These hormonal changes may lead to a variety of symptoms, such as mood swings, increased emotional sensitivity, low mood, hot flushes, night sweats, weight gain, and hair thinning and hair loss.

It is the decrease in oestrogen in particular that speeds up the ageing process of the skin and genital mucous membranes, causing dryness, discomfort during sex and reduced libido. Another consequence of decreased oestrogen levels is the predisposition to bone demineralisation.

Combined, the hormonal changes, menopause-related stress, reduced sleep quality and energy levels, and loss of muscle mass associated with menopause can also induce an increase in fat mass, especially on the hips and abdomen.

Can we counter this ageing process?

Yes, we can! By adopting a natural but targeted approach, we can stop the clock and restore our energy and beauty.

This is how

First, we need to perform a series of specific tests, including antioxidant barrier state and DHEA, cortisol and insulin dosage. Medical-grade bio-impedance testing can be used to detect any muscular and skeletal changes as well as to diagnose acidosis, measure bone mineralisation and identify fat tissue. A PPG stress flow test can be added to detect any alterations in the autonomic nervous system and body reactivity.

The state of health of the gastrointestinal tract must also be assessed, including digestive and intestinal function, to detect any food intolerance or dysbiosis.

When tests results are in, we can start to plan the journey towards rebirth.

Healthy natural supplementation with bio-identical hormones and specific phytotherapies help to alleviate and eliminate physical and mental symptoms of hormonal changes.

A tailored dietary regimen focused on foods with a low glycaemic index boosts metabolism – day after day, you will lose excess fat and feel more toned and energetic.

Using highly purified phytocomplexes we can also support the liver’s detoxifying function as well as digestive function, resulting in reduced stomach swelling and improved intestine motility.

Daily physical activity with personalised exercises will help you reshape your muscles and bones. Not everyone knows that exercise induces the production of important chemicals known as myokines, which have positive and protective effects on the whole body.

Treatments such as oxygen and ozone therapy and venous infusions of antioxidants and vitamins are not only very helpful in staving off the visible signs of ageing, but also help to prevent age-related conditions.

Vitamin D and minerals in basic form promote the synthesis of natural collagen, which improves skin tone as well as bone and cartilage fitness, with protective effects against arthrosis and osteoporosis.
